KANDS was inspired by the necessity for improvement and the need for further innovation. During Dr. Mayor’s training in orthopedic hand surgery, he used a finger splint that was anatomic in nature but rudimentary in design. The splint available was difficult to fit on patients and required a second person to obtain the best fit. Recognizing these challenges to both the patient and the physician, Dr. Mayor knew there had to be a better option.
In search of a solution, he poured through medical supply catalogues to find an alternative, however, he was unable to find one. Over the next two years, he and his team worked to bring the Digimate buddy splint to life. Their goals were simple: create a buddy splint that matches finger anatomy, is easy to apply, provides improved finger range-of-motion, and protects the injured finger.
KANDS is proud to offer the first commercially available finger buddy splint that matches the unique anatomy of your fingers. The Digimate splint is comfortable, easy to apply, and offers superior protection to the injured finger.
